After a hiatus on the NBC schedule for the American Song Contest, The Voice is back for its 22nd season with a fresh panel of coaches: Blake Shelton and John Legend continue their run, joined by a returning Gwen Stefani, and the newest addition, Camila Cabello, who replaced Kelly Clarkson.
Here is everything we know so far about the return of the vocal competition:
When did The Voice season 22 premiere?
The Voice season 22 premiered Monday, Sept. 19 with a second episode the following night on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
What time is The Voice on?
The Voice is on from 8-10 p.m. ET Mondays and 8-9 p.m. ET Tuesday nights.
Who are The Voice judges 2022?
Blake Shelton
Shelton is the only remaining original coach on The Voice. He begins his 22nd season as an eight-time winner, with artists including Cam Anthony, Todd Tilghman, Sundance Head, Craig Wayne Boyd, Danielle Bradbery, Cassadee Pope, Chloe Kohanski, and Jermaine Paul.

John Legend
Season 21 marks John Legend’s seventh time as a coach. He won his first season on the show with Maelyn Jarmon.
Gwen Stefani
Stefani made her coaching debut on The Voice’s seventh season in 2014. She also coached seasons 9, 12, 17, and 19, wining season 19 with contestant Carter Rubin. Stefani took over the seat vacated by Ariana Grande.
Camila Cabello
Season 22 will mark Camila’s first time sitting in a coach’s chair on The Voice, but she has previous experience in working with the contestants as an advisor last season for Team Legend. Cabello replaced Kelly Clarkson, who took a break after eight seasons and after winning the competition last season with the brother-sister trio Girl Named Tom. And, of course, Cabello has experience with singing competitions as a competitor herself in 2012 as an artist on The X-Factor, where she was cast with four other women to form the band Fifth Harmony.

Are there any changes for The Voice season 22?
There are! To start with, each coach will end up with 14 members on their team for a total of 56 artists competing this season. To achieve this, the Blind Auditions will last seven episodes.
Next, the Battle Rounds will cut the number of competitors down to 36, which means 9 for each coach, and will take place over six episodes.
Finally, this season will showcase a new format element during the Knockout Rounds. For the first time ever, this phase of the competition will include three-way knockouts instead of the normal two in which the artists will perform songs of their own choosing. With the new, triple format, the Knockouts will only need three episodes to produce a Top 16.
Then the 10-episode Live Shows will begin, which will take place over five weeks as The Voice airs both Monday and Tuesday nights.
Has The Voice been renewed for season 23?
It has! Season 23 of The Voice will be the final season that Blake Shelton will coach the singing competition. He will be joined by returning judge Kelly Clarkson and new judges Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan.

Is there a The Voice season 22 trailer?
Yes! The trailer introduces new coach Camila Cabello, welcomes back Gwen Stefani and John Legend, and reminds us that Blake Shelton is the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) with a real live goat!
You will also want to check out the coaches performing “Havana,” which is, of course, a Camila Cabello song!
Before the trailer was released, there was this TikTok video announcing the coaching panel.

Team Legend: Jazmine Sullivan
Team Camila: Charlie Puth

Team Gwen: Sean Paul
This is another change for the season. There won’t be one. In lieu of enlisting a mega mentor, the coaches will work with their artists directly to prepare them for the new three-way Knockout challenge.
Blake and Gwen got engaged in October 2020 after dating since 2015 when they met on The Voice and became friends, bonding over the fact that they were both going through a divorce: Blake from Miranda Lambert and Gwen from Gavin Rossdale. They officially became a couple when they walked their first red carpet in 2016. They married on July 3, 2021 in a ceremony officiated by Carson Daly at Blake’s ranch in Oklahoma in a chapel he built especially for Gwen.
